Let's talk about how you hate mornings and why you don't want to get out of that bed of yours. I cannot deny that I do get the same feelings every now and then, but recently I realised that it is possible to make my mornings more enjoyable and relaxed. In other terms Hygge Mornings.
What does Hygge means ?
Hygge (pronounced hue-guh not hoo-gah) is a Danish word used when acknowledging a feeling or moment, whether alone or with friends, at home or out, ordinary or extraordinary as cosy, charming or special.
Hygge (or to be “hyggeligt”) doesn’t require learning “how to hygge”, adopting it as a lifestyle or buying anything. It simply requires being present and recognising a moment that feels so sweet, cosy, charming, special or nice that you just have to name the moment.
So whether it’s making coffee a verb by creating a ritual of making it every morning to a cosy evening in with friends where you’re just enjoying each others company to the simple act of lighting a candle with every meal. Hygge is being aware of a good moment whether it’s simple or special.

So I decided to make my mornings more Hygge, I usually struggle to make something for breakfast and end up having an apple with coffee, dark as night. I have no idea whether if it's healthy or not but I decided that it's not a nutritional enough meal for a busy day.
Then I found out about overnight oats and chia pudding, I make a jar of overnight oats or chia pudding or usually a mix of both and just grab it from my fridge while waiting for my kettle to boil for a tea or coffee. (Watch this space for some overnight oats and chia pudding recipe)
Now that my food and coffee is sorted, I have time that I can spend with just myself, by myself. I would like it to be quality time in the morning where I can just chill before a busy day of Chemistry, Biology and all the science bits and the labs. I try to read a book, or go through the Cereal Magazine just to see some beautiful photos.
I also like to scroll through my Instagram and see what my Insta-Friends are up to or watch a few youtube videos.
What I am trying to say is; your mornings don't have to be stressful and in a rush, prepare your breakfast the night before, open your curtains before going to bed to let the first sun rays of the day to fall into your room and set your alarm to a time that you won't need to run around to get dressed and brush your teeth at the same time. And most importantly enjoy the fact that you woke up to a day full of possibilities.
Thanks for reading, please send me your morning rituals and your favourite overnight breakfast recipes.
